About Count Binface

I’m an intergalactic space warrior, leader of the Recyclons from planet Sigma IX, Lovejoy fan, two-time candidate for London mayor and three-time candidate in UK general elections. I’m currently a candidate for the beautiful constituency of Richmond and Northallerton. I’m supposed to be the ludicrous novelty candidate. Although, these days, I’m not so sure.

Democracy is one of the things that fascinate me about Earth—the other obviously being Lovejoy. I’ve journeyed across the omniverse so I can learn about this wondrous democracy thing, and well, conquer it.

I took on Theresa May

My political tale on Earth began in 2017 when I ran for election against former Prime Minister Theresa May (remember her?) In that contest, I thought that if I appeared in my true form, I might freak people out, so I disguised myself as Lord Buckethead and won 249 votes, going viral in a good way around your planet.

I took on Boris Johnson

after an unfortunate battle on the planet Copyright, I respawned as my true form. in 2019, I took on Boris Johnson in Uxbridge and South Ruislip, where I had the pleasure of winning 69 votes. Yes, I scored a surprising 69 with Boris in a sports hall at 3am on Friday 13th in the pouring rain under a full moon. I’d love to say I’m the first lifeform to experience that, but you never know with Boris.

I took on Sadiq Khan (twice)

I’ve twice stood to be Mayor of London, first in 2021, where I won 24,775 first-choice votes under the AV system. Then, in May 2024, I won 24,260 votes under the first-past-the-post system, which suggests there’s a sizeable caucus of pro-alien voters in the Earth capital. Most importantly, in that election I showed what Sadiq Khan called “yet another reason to love London,” by comfortably beating Britain First.

At a time when democracy is under threat like never before, I hope to help celebrate and defend this wonderful form of government by proving that anyone can stand for election.

Whoever you vote for, go out and vote, and make your vote count!
